Lotus pushes Exchange to Notes Migrations
Microsoft Exchange customers face a number of challenges these days, Marsh said, primarily from security risks (from attacks and viruses) and the end-of-life of Exchange 5.5, which is forcing costly and complicated upgrades to Exchange 2003. “To upgrade from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003, for example, customers must roll out Active Directory, move desktops to Windows XP, and servers to Windows 2003,” Marsh said. “Many are figuring out that the cost and complexity of migrating from Exchange 5.5 to Notes/Domino 6.5 is more attractive than an upgrade to Exchange 2003.”
We at GreyDuck have noticed this trend as well.
